Prove the entire path before shipping or handing over.
Bench record
Record model, region, firmware, DevEUI, device profile and decoder version. Store sensitive radio credentials only in the approved provisioning system. Label the unit with an internal inventory reference that does not expose its keys.
End-to-end checks
- Register and join the device in the intended development network.
- Observe a real uplink and compare decoded values with a reference.
- Verify customer/site mapping and reject a mismatched assignment.
- Exercise duplicates, delayed data and a failed downstream service.
- Prove any alarm and recovery rule using safe simulated conditions.
- Document installation steps and the expected first-contact behaviour.
Field acceptance
Check radio coverage, mounting, environmental suitability, power and internet access at the installation site. A successful bench test does not guarantee field coverage. Record the acceptance result and outstanding issues.
Handover pack
Include inventory, profile versions, installation notes, operational ownership, escalation details and a rollback path. Define who approves later firmware or integration changes.
